Use and application

The Tuff Jug Gen 3 is designed for riders and mechanics who want to refuel quickly and efficiently. Place the quick-fill cap straight onto the fuel tank opening and the fuel flows automatically and in a controlled manner into the tank. As soon as you lift or remove the jug, the system shuts off immediately. This prevents overflow, dripping, and fuel waste.

This makes the Tuff Jug particularly suitable for race days, training sessions, pit stops, and workshop use. Even with regular use, the system remains reliable. Thanks to the secure sealing system, this quick-fill fuel can is also easy and leak-free to transport in a van, trailer, or truck.

Frequently asked questions about the Tuff Jug fuel can

What is the difference compared to a standard fuel can?

A Tuff Jug works with a closed quick-fill system that only opens when the jug is correctly placed on the fuel tank opening. This allows fuel to flow into the tank in a controlled manner, without air glugging and without uncontrolled splashing. This makes refueling faster, cleaner, and more consistent than using a traditional fuel can with a spout.

Can I refuel without spilling?

Yes. Thanks to the automatic valve system, the fuel flow opens and closes immediately when the jug is placed or lifted. This prevents overflow and dripping, making refueling virtually spill-free in practice.

Can I stop the fuel flow myself during refueling?

Yes. You can stop the fuel flow immediately by slightly lifting or removing the jug from the fuel tank opening. The valve closes instantly, giving you full control and preventing fuel run-on.

Can it also be used with diesel or other liquids?

The Tuff Jug is primarily designed for (race) fuel. Use with diesel or other liquids is only recommended if those liquids are suitable for plastic fuel containers and the system is thoroughly cleaned after use. When in doubt, use it only for its intended purpose.

Does it work with small fuel tank openings?

In many cases, yes, but the system works best when the jug can properly seal on the fuel tank opening. With very small or non-standard openings, it is important to check whether there is sufficient space for correct placement and sealing. There are adapters available specifically for cars and KTM motorcycles.

Is this fuel can approved for every event or race?

In many cases, yes, but always check the specific regulations of the event organizer to be sure. In some situations, a steel fuel container may be required, while this is a plastic version.
